James C. Davis papers, 1919-1966.

The collection consists of correspondence, audio-visual materials, speeches, subject and fact files of James C. Davis from 1919-1966. Materials relate to J.C. Davis's congressional campaigns; his work on the Post Office and Civil Service Committee and District of Columbia Committee; other congressional committees, government agencies and departments; proposed and passed legislation; and military service academies. Correspondence includes some received from constituents. Some non-congressional materials and personal correspondence relate to Davis's friends and family and his career before and after his term as a U.S. congressman. The audio-visual materials include photographs, 109 television and other films, and 7 magnetic tapes.
